  1. Vikings where villains because they only built boats for themselves and have wars even destroying peoples house. They steal treasure because they are like pirates. When they meet people they force them to full of the ladders.Sometimes they use people to help them find some treasure and then they kill them.

  2. According to my research the vikings were neither hero or villain. Vikings might look like vile, barbaric, bloodthirsty people but that is a misconception. The Viking raid were indeed extremely violent but it was a berserk and savage age. What really made the Vikings different was the fact that they seemed to take special care to destroy items of religious value (Christian monasteries and holy sites) and kill churchmen and nuns which earned them quite a bit of hatred in a highly religious time. The Viking had crude weapons is also a misconception. They were in fact very skilled weapons blacksmiths. They used a welding technique called pattern welding, the
Vikings could make swords that were both extremely sharp and flexible. Some sagas say that the vikings tested these weapons by placing the sword hilt first in a cold stream, and float a hair down to it. If it cut the hair, it was considered a good sword. They were also quite hygienic. Vikings were like normal people who were known for their artistry, technological skills and seamanship. In conclusion, the current popular representations of the Vikings are typically based on cultural cliches and stereotypes.

  3. I think that the vikings were bad and good people because they declared wars and killed lots of people, however they did it for there family so that they could have a good life, but that does not give them the right to kill. Would you kill for your family to have a good life? Or would you rather die or would you rather kill and have a good life. It is either kill and have vikings or do not kill and do not have vikings. Which one would you choose?

  6. In my opinion the vikings were villains. They came to invade Britain in the beging of the 5th century . They did not help people, they came to take over Britain. They killed lots of people and made them do lots of work, treating them like slaves. The vikings mostly came for the food, money and big buildings to live in. The vikings were not heroes.

  7. In my opinion Vikings were both villains and heroes.

    Why they were villains:

    i. They stole valuables from different places such as monasteries
ii. They killed native people of countries they invaded
iii. They destroyed homes and villages of places they invaded

    Why they were heroes:

    I. They created a strong army for Britain
II. They established trade routes which are still used today
III. They taught the British different skills such as ship making
IV. They were great craftsmen so much finer weapons could be used by the British

  8. There are two answers for this question. The Vikings were bad and good. You could see them as killing people for their own goods and riches, but if you put yourself in their shoes you can see that they did it for a good life for themselves and their family. On the other hand though, killing would not do you any good (only protect you) and the main idea is to serve your family with goods, money and food.

  10. My opinion is the Vikings were both heroes and villains. Initially they invaded our lands. When they invaded they killed people, they conquered our lands and also took away it's wealth.Later the Vikings settled down and made U.K their home. With their arrival the Vikings bought new culture, new technologies and new ways of life

  12. They are basically both villains and heroes because Vikings built a strong army for Britain. Also Vikings wanted peace but when war was declared they would help other countries by fighting for them . Furthermore they stole treasure and goods because in those times there were not much wealth to go around so Viking stole for there benefits. To conclude the Vikings didn't mean no harm but when someone is in need the Vikings will help them out.So I think Vikings are both villains and heroes.
