    Background

    Leonardo da Vinci was born on 15 April 1452 near the Tuscan town of Vinci in Italy. Around the age of 14 he became an apprentice to a famous artist named Verrocchio. This is where he learned about art, drawing, painting and more. He died on 2nd May 1519 at age of 67. He lived during the Renaissance, a cultural movement that led to important developments in areas such as art and science.

    His paintings

    His most famous paintings was the Mona Lisa, he made an illusion on the painting that from wherever you are in the room she would be staring at you.
    The last supper was painted onto the walls of Santa Maria delle near Milan. Leonardo spent three years painting the work, and much of that time was spent searching the streets of Milan for models of Christ and Judas. It is said that only Leonardo's threats to paint the Prior of the convent as Judas bought him the time he needed to finish.


    His inventions

    He drew pictures and designs of hang gliders, helicopters, war machines, musical instruments, various pumps, and more. Many of Leonardo’s drawings and design were made in his pursuit of scientific knowledge and inventions. Many of Leonardo da Vinci’s machines have since been built and tested.

    • The term “Renaissance Man” means someone who is good at everything. Leonardo is considered to be the ultimate Renaissance Man.
    • It is thought that he invented the bicycle.
    • His drawing “Vitruvian Man” is on the Italian Euro coin. The Vitruvian Man is a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci that describes the relationship between human proportions and geometry.
    • His painting “Mona Lisa” is also called "La Giaconda" meaning the laughing one.
    • Da Vinci wrote in the opposite direction to what is normal, meaning you’d need a mirror to read it properly.

  2. Leonardo Da Vinci was born 15th April 1452-2nd May 1519. He was an artist, inventor, engineer and architect. His painting were very detailed and one turned out to be the greatest painting in the world. It's called the Mona Lisa, the first painting to have a half-smile. He has invented a number of inventions which we still use today like the helicopter, but the modified versions. For six years he learned a couple of technical skills like metalworking, leather arts, carpentry, drawing and sculpting. At the age of 20 Da Vinci became a master artist at Saint Luke and created his own workshop.
    In 1495-1497 he produced a mural of The "Last Supper" in the refectory monastery of Santa Maria Delle Grazie, Milan. He was in Milan until the french invaded in 1499 and the Sforza family forced to flee. He could have visited Venice before getting back to Florence. In Florence he painted several portraits, but the only one that survived is the famous of the Mona Lisa (1503-1506). In 1506, da Vinci returned to Milan, remaining there until 1513. This was followed by three years based in Rome. In 1517, at the invitation of the french king Francis I, Leonardo moved to the Château of Cloux, near Amboise in France, when he died on 2nd May 1519.

  3. Leonardo da Vinci was a famous artist. Leonardo on his 26th birthday, Leonardo took
    the plunge set up his on studio. During his time in Florence, he painted several portraits, but the only one that survives is the famous 'Mona Lisa'. The Mona Lisa is one of his his most best painting. Leonardo was and is best known as an artist, the creator of such masterpieces as the Mona Lisa, Madonna of the Rocks, and The Last Supper. It feel like the Monolisa is staring at you.

    *Italy was invaded by the French in 1443 and Leonardo's family were forced to flee from there homes.
    *Some of his paintings were destroy in the war!
    *His famous painting the Mona Lisa took him three years to get perfect.
    *Leonardo was the first personme up with the idea of a plane.

    * Leonardo Da vinci was the son of a wealthy man named Messer Piero Fruosino Di Antonio Da Vinci.
    * Interestingly his parents were not married when he was born.
    *His father married a 16 year old women who died at a early age named Albiera.
    * After Leanardo turned sixteen his father married Francesca Lanfredini who was only twenty years old.
    *He invented the cannon, machine gun,gliders,turnspit for roasting meat,canal system to irrigate fields and the parachute.

    Leonardo da Vinci was known as a painter, architect, sculptor and engineer, he was just not famous for paintings but also for inventing planes as well.

    Leonardo was born on 15th April 1452 near the Tuscan town of Vinci. He was apprenticed to the painter and sculptor Andrea del Verrocchio in Florence. Da Vinci completed the painting called the Last supper in three years, his most famous painting was the Mona Lisa which he completed in four years. Leonardo was in Milan when the city was invaded by the French. When the war ended the only painting that survived was the most famous Mona Lisa. Da Vinci returned to Milan in 1513 and died on 2nd May 1519.

  8. Leonardo da Vinci was Italy's most famous artist he painted so many pictures like the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper and many more. He was born from un married parents on 15 April 1452 in Vinci Italy. The Mona Lisa one of his most famous painting was told to be painted between 1503 and 1506 but it was possible that Leonardo da Vinci was still painting on this peice as late as 1517. Leonardo da Vinci died on May 2nd 1519 due to natural causes at the age of 67.

    Leonardo Da Vinci was born April 14, 1452. Leonardo was AMAZING, he knew almost everything (in Italian they call it renaissance). He was an engineer, artist, scientist, musician and a writer.
    His most famous painting was the Mona Lisa. Apparently it was stolen on April 21 1911. No one knew till the following day. He painted many other paintings but the Mona Lisa was his best!
    He invented the aeroplane and drew an extremely accurate drawing of the brain!!!
    Leonardo’s sir name was ‘Da Vinci’ witch is a city in Italy. Leonardo Da Vinci died May 2, 1452.

    Leonardo da Vinci may well have been the greatest inventor in history, yet he had very little effect on the technology of his time.He invented the ball bearing,design a parachute but it did not happen,ornithopter,diving suit,armored tank,arieal screw,designed robotic knight but it never happen.

Leonardo was a famous painter back in the day he learnt about the human skull he was also a grate inventor.It took Leonardo about a year and a half to finish the Mona Lisa's half smile he also painted the Last super that represents Jesus the last meal befor he was going to be hanged on the kross .
